Senior Trump campaign adviser Corey Lewandowski has dismissed rumors that the leadership team of Donald Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign is set for a shake-up. Despite recent speculation, Lewandowski confirmed that campaign managers Susie Wiles and Chris LaCivita will continue to lead the operation.
Lewandowski, who previously managed Trump’s 2016 campaign, recently rejoined the team and addressed the rumors during an appearance on Fox News Sunday. He emphasized that the campaign is fully focused on supporting Trump’s vision for America in the final weeks before the election. “We are solely focused on one thing, which is making sure Donald Trump has the opportunity to lay out his vision for America over the next nine weeks,” Lewandowski stated.
Speculation about potential changes in campaign leadership arose after Lewandowski’s return, particularly given his past controversies. Lewandowski was fired from Trump’s 2016 campaign after an incident involving a reporter and later lost a position overseeing a pro-Trump political fund due to allegations of unwanted advances. His return to the campaign sparked rumors that he might replace Wiles and LaCivita, with some reports suggesting Trump was feeling “superstitious and nostalgic.”
Despite these rumors, Lewandowski confirmed that Wiles and LaCivita will remain in their roles, and there has been no campaign shake-up. The speculation also involved the potential involvement of former presidential counselor Kellyanne Conway, but no changes have been made.
The race between Trump and his opponent remains tight, with both sides working to solidify their positions. Polls show that voters are divided, with some viewing Harris as “too liberal” and others seeing Trump as “too conservative.” According to Gary Langer of Langer Research Associates, the competition remains close, with neither candidate gaining significant ground after their respective party conventions.
